A Weekend in Penang

Hey everyone,

A few weeks ago, I accompanied my husband for 1 of his running event in Penang. So, converting it as a holiday, we decided to stay in Hard Rock Hotel Penang for a new experience.
Hard Rock Hotel Penang

This is the Lagoon Suite. You can jump into the pool straight from your room. So nice.... The room rate will be around RM700-800 per night.
That night we had our dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. The food was ok. You may listen to the band performance which will start from 10.30 pm onward  Lazy to get up from the bed? Never mind, you can watch it from the TV in your room. There's also a jazz performance at the hotel lobby but you will have to fight for the seats as they are limited.
Some of the views at the hotel:

This is the swimming pool area. Look at how big and fun the slidings are!
We had a wonderful time in Hard Rock Hotel Penang. Swimming, listening to the Jazz Band at the hotel, watching the free movies provided, strolling around the hotel compound. Would love to come back again.....

Miranda Kerr ... Or Is It Her Twin?

Hey everyone,

I have written a few posts on plastic surgery in South Korea but this is just amazing and ridiculous. A girl from South Korea had undergone a plastic surgery to make her look like Miranda Kerr.

She said, "I didn't do my forehead. I only did my eyes and nose. Besides that, I haven't touched anything. I didn't put anything in my cheeks and it's all fat".

She continues, "When I said I wanted to get surgery, everyone around me tried to dissuade me. In fact, people often asked if I had surgery even before I got it. I wanted to look like Miranda Kerr so I decided and went ahead with surgery".

This is how she looks like :

Do you think they look alike? In my opinion, not really......

Places To Visit in Bali, Indonesia

Hey everyone,

As you all know, my husband and I celebrated our 1st year wedding anniversary in Bali, Indonesia. As the public transportation there is not really good, so we hired a driver to go around Bali. It costed us about Rp 800,000 for a day tour and airport transfers. Well in my opinion, there's not that much to see in Bali but you may visit these places when you are in Bali:
Our first stop was having seafood in Jimbaran. The driver brought us to Blue Ocean Seafood.
We arrived during sunset so we had our dinner whilst watching the sunset.
We ordered shrimps for 2, squids for 2 and a fish. I costed us abour Rp 900,000 or RM300. I must say, it's very expensive.
Bali has a lot of temples but we decided to only visit just 1 temple and it's Tanah Lot Temple. It's about 30-minute-drive from Seminyak. This is how it looks like when the sea water recedes. Hence, I suggest you to go in the morning so that you may go closer to the temple.
Tanah Lot Temple.
For lunch, we went to Budesa for halal food.
We had our lunch in a gazebo.
Having Bali Fried Rice and Seafood Fried Rice with Mango and Watermelon juice.

A must visit place for us...Hard Rock Bali in Kuta.
Not far from there is the Kuta Square where you can do a little bit of shopping.
We were told that Krisna sells cheap souvenirs.
Seminyak Square is only 15-minute-walk from our villa. We went there at night for a stroll.
There we went to Cafe Bali to have some coffee.
Cafe Bali.
This fried shrimp is RM20. It's RM5 per piece!
Our hot chocolcate and mocha........
On our last day, we went the DFS Galleria in Kuta where you can buy tax free goods. You may also find DFS Galleria at the airport.
One of my good friend gave me dried mango all the way from Bangkok as a gift. So I became addicted to it. Bought 1 in Bali when I saw it. The airport is selling it way cheaper.
Please save Rp 150,000 per person for your airport tax. You will have to pay just before you check-in at the airport.

Bali is basically a place to go if you like spas and beaches. Also, a lot of places to visit there are the temples and ritual places . Since I don't really like beaches, thus, it was not our main priority to go there. Having dinner at the beach was adequate for us. I don't need to go to the spa as I am already seeing my Aesthetician every fortnight.

In opinion, the villas in Bali are nice and cheap. We may consider to go to Bali again should we want to try out other villas there.

Sweden Oh Sweden.......

Hey everyone,

I read this somewhere and I think it's ridiculous. According to the article, a 65-year-old man took off his shorts at a beach near Stockholm and began masturbating into the ocean. The man was charged with sexual assault, but was acquitted last week after a judge ruled he was not targeting a specific person.

Even though the Sodertorn District Court's judgement stated it 'may be proven that the man exposed himself and masturbated on this occasion', the court decided the man had not committed a crime, a decision the public prosecutor agreed with, though he said in the future public masturbation might be considered disorderly conduct.

'For this to be a criminal offence, it's required that the sexual molestation was directed towards one or more people,' Olof Vrethammar said. 'I think the court's judgement is reasonable. With that we can conclude that it is okay to masturbate on the beach.' The ruling in the case comes just 3 months after Sweden's last major sex scandal, when police in Stockholm announced that a man who fucks bicycles was on the loose. So I guess Sweden is OK with public masturbation.

I don't know about you but I laughed whilst reading this article. Laughing at the ridiculous old man also the man who fucks bicycles...... Get a room guys....

1st Anniversary's Trip to Bali, Indonesia (August 2013)

Hello everyone,

Time passes so fast that we are already celebrating our 1st anniversary. Since both of us share the same interest which is traveling, hence, we decided to celebrate our 1st anniversary at a luxurious hotel yet affordable where we will be spending most of our time there.

We chose Bali, Indonesia for a 3D2N trip as it is near and there are 1,700 hotels to choose from. We wanted to stay in a villa with a private pool. After a few days of research, we decided to stay at La Villais Exclusive Villa and Spa in Seminyak. We booked via http://www.booking.com/. The price per night for a single bedroom is around USD200-300 depending on how early you book it.

There are a few places famous in Bali. If you want entertainment and shopping right next to you, you may choose Kuta or Legian. If you want a quieter area but not too far from entertainment, you may choose Seminyak.
The villa is about 20 minute drive from Ngurah Rai Airport. It has 26 rooms only. Hence, you will have a lot of privacy.
The villa was having a renovation, so they built an alternative entrance at the back. The villa gave us a welcome drink which was a guava juice. Nice! We felt so welcoming.
The private pool is provided with a gazebo. The living room, dining area and the kitchen is outdoor.
The dining area and kitchen.
The living room.
The bedroom.
The bathroom. 1 word, spacious.
The view from the bedroom.
The villa.
The coffee house where we had our breakfast. The food was ok but maybe the villa management may want to add more varieties in the buffet menu.
The pathway to the villas.
If you don't feel like walking, you may call for a buggy service. It will come in no time. Our villa was at the end so we always used the buggy.

The housekeeping will come and spray the mosquito repellent every evening and leave this on your bed.

The view in front of the villa, a mini paddy field.
The villa is near to Seminyak Square, where all the shops and restaurants are at. It's about a 10 minute walk. So you will not have any difficulties to find food nearby.

The Ulin Villa and Spa looks so nice in my opinion. It's double the price of La Villais Exclusive. Perhaps our next visit?

Other villas you may want to consider:

Maya Sayang Villa

Villa Penelopy

Mutiara Bali Villa

Chez Bali Villa

BVilla

Bli Bli Villa & Spa
Wait for my next entry on the places we visited when we were in Bali. We only went to a few places as we wanted to spend most of our time in the villa.
